Crypto.com, OG.com Partner With River Markets to Expand Institutional Prediction Markets Access

An October 20 MoU would connect River Markets’ prime brokerage with OG.com’s regulated event contracts and Crypto.com Exchange liquidity. Here is what it means—and what remains unproven.

Crypto.com Exchange and OG.com announced on October 20 that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with San Francisco-based prime brokerage River Markets to expand institutional access to US-regulated prediction markets.

The proposed arrangement would connect River Markets’ institutional execution and risk-management infrastructure with OG.com’s CFTC-regulated event contracts and Crypto.com Exchange’s digital asset spot markets. It is an announced agreement, not confirmation that all integrations are already live.

What the River Markets partnership would provide

Under the proposal, eligible US-based institutional clients, including hedge funds and quantitative trading desks, would be able to access OG.com event contracts and Crypto.com Exchange liquidity through River Markets. The companies describe potential strategies spanning macroeconomics, finance, sports, politics and culture.

River Markets provides order routing, execution, risk management and portfolio tracking for professional trading firms operating across prediction market venues. According to the companies, its routing technology has processed more than 150 million contracts to date. That figure describes historical contracts routed, not volume generated by the new partnership.

OG.com provides access to event contracts through its US-regulated exchange and clearing infrastructure. OG.com Markets operates as a CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market and Derivatives Clearing Organization, while Crypto.com Exchange offers digital asset spot-market access for advanced and institutional traders. OG.com became an independent platform following the spin-off announced in September 2026.

What the companies say

Steve Humenik, Chief Legal Officer of OG.com and Chairman of OG.com Markets, described the arrangement as an effort to connect River Markets’ institutional infrastructure with OG.com’s central limit order book, supporting professional firms seeking to price and hedge event risks.

River Markets co-founder and CEO Oscar Levy said the company’s goal was to give traders unified execution, risk management and order routing across prediction market venues through a single professional platform and API.

Iskandar Vanblarcum, Managing Director of Crypto.com Exchange, said access to its digital asset markets would help professional trading desks manage broader exposure alongside event-contract strategies. These statements describe the companies’ intentions rather than measured outcomes of the integration.

Why the agreement matters for institutional prediction markets

The announcement extends an existing investment thesis around prediction market infrastructure. In August, River Markets raised $8.5 million in seed funding to build unified execution and risk systems for professional traders, addressing fragmented balances, APIs and venue connections.

For hedge funds and quantitative firms, the issue is not simply access to another event contract. Firms trading across multiple venues may need consolidated exposure monitoring, efficient order routing and consistent operational processes. Connecting regulated event contracts to prime-brokerage workflows could reduce the need for separate venue-specific technology, although the companies have not yet published evidence that this specific integration has reduced costs or improved execution.

The agreement also sits within a broader distribution and market-infrastructure push. In August, Trading Technologies announced planned connectivity to OG.com, while September brought an OG.com infrastructure partnership with Robinhood. Those deals serve different customers and should not be treated as equivalent, but together they show a growing emphasis on intermediaries and professional distribution.

What remains to be established

Three questions remain open: when the proposed connectivity will become available to eligible clients; how execution and risk management will work across the two types of markets in practice; and whether the arrangement produces measurable changes in institutional participation or liquidity. An MoU alone cannot establish any of those outcomes.
