Eventus International’s inaugural Prediction Markets Summit Europe is entering its final week of preparations ahead of the 9–10 November event at Sunborn Gibraltar.

The two-day summit will bring together public officials, platform founders, legal advisers and technology providers to discuss event-based trading. The programme covers regulation, liquidity and market integrity, alongside the commercial questions facing operators expanding into new markets.

Opening day includes startup pitches and networking

The programme begins on Monday, 9 November, with registration and the pop-up expo opening at 13:00, followed by an opening keynote at 13:30. Targ Patience, founding partner at Dolya Consulting, is listed as the summit chairperson.

A startup pitch competition is scheduled to begin at 14:00. According to Eventus, three shortlisted startups will present their platforms and business models to a judging panel, with the winner due to be announced at 16:30.

A welcome reception follows from 17:00, providing time for delegates to meet speakers, sponsors and other participants.

Main conference examines regulation and market operations

The full-day conference on Tuesday, 10 November, is scheduled to include a ministerial keynote by Nigel Feetham, Gibraltar’s Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry, on regulating event contracts.

A strategic presentation will compare sportsbook risk with prediction-market mechanics. The regulatory programme will examine differences in European classification, the relationship between financial and gambling oversight, and questions involving the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation.

Technology sessions will address automated market makers, continuous liquidity, machine-learning forecasting and transparent event resolution. These discussions will examine how platforms operate and determine outcomes, alongside the rules governing their businesses.

Afternoon panels are set to cover commercial growth, media expansion, institutional investment and international licensing challenges. Closing remarks are scheduled for 17:00, followed by farewell networking drinks from 17:15.

Speakers span government and platform development

Alongside Feetham, the speaker lineup includes Andrew Lyman, Gibraltar’s Gambling Commissioner and Executive Director of the Gambling Division.

Other speakers named in the release include Christina Thakor-Rankin, principal consultant at 1710 Gaming; Dr Gayle Kimberley, partner at GKF Legal; and Dr Judith Glynn, head of the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Gaming at the University of Gibraltar.

The official event page also lists Charlotte Nimmo, CEO of ipredicta.co; Travis Geiger, co-founder and chief experience officer at WagerWire and Wire Markets; and Daniel Bizzell, founder of Signal Infra.

For attendees, the programme combines discussions about licensing and expansion with sessions on liquidity provision and contract resolution. The startup competition and pop-up expo add opportunities to hear business proposals and meet companies working in the sector.
