Marex clears first institutional event-contract trade on Kalshi
Marex says it cleared a Kalshi transaction for a large financial institution. The client, contract and trade size were not disclosed.

Marex Capital Markets has cleared its first institutional event-contract transaction on Kalshi, the firm announced on 3 November.
The transaction was completed for an unnamed large financial institution. Marex did not disclose the contract, trade size, execution date or whether the position was a hedge.
The Marex Group subsidiary says it will act as an intermediary between institutional clients and Kalshi as a clearing member. Access will cover approved markets and jurisdictions, including commodities, economics and financials.
Thomas Texier, Marex's group head of clearing, attributed the decision to join Kalshi to client demand. The announcement identifies hedge funds, proprietary trading firms and other capital managers among the institutional clients Marex serves.
The completed transaction adds to the distribution routes being built around Kalshi. It establishes that one institution used this clearing route; the disclosed information does not show the scale or frequency of subsequent activity.
