CFTC sets December 15 roundtable on 24/7 derivatives trading
The CFTC will examine overnight trading, tokenisation, staffing and infrastructure at a public December roundtable, following an earlier request for comment.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission will hold a public roundtable on December 15 to examine the viability of moving derivatives markets to round-the-clock trading.
The agency announced the event on October 28. Discussions will cover overnight trading, tokenisation, infrastructure and staffing needs, and operational readiness.
The roundtable will take place at the CFTC's headquarters in Washington and will be livestreamed on its website. The agency said it would publish the agenda, speakers and registration details later. In-person attendance may be limited.
Operational questions for continuous markets
Chairman Michael Selig said the CFTC would consider differences between asset classes when assessing 24/7 trading. The discussion follows the agency's earlier request for public comment on extending standard futures contracts to continuous trading.
The announcement schedules a discussion. It does not approve a new trading model or set new requirements for prediction-market exchanges.
For the prediction-market sector, the discussion comes as operators expand into other derivatives. Plus500 has launched access to Kalshi perpetual futures through its US futures commission merchant, while OG.com and Crypto.com have launched US crypto perpetuals.
