Robinhood generated $173 million in event-contract revenue in the third quarter of 2026, more than six times the year-earlier figure, as prediction markets became a larger source of transaction revenue for the brokerage.

Its 27 October earnings release also reported a record 16.4 billion event contracts traded during the quarter ended 30 September, up more than sevenfold year over year.

The business grew from $156 million in revenue and 13.6 billion contracts in Q2. Prediction Frontier calculates that revenue rose about 11% quarter on quarter, while the number of contracts traded increased about 21%.

Event contracts accounted for roughly 12% of Robinhood’s $1.424 billion in total quarterly revenue, according to PF’s calculation. Revenue growth lagged growth in contract numbers between the two quarters; those totals alone do not establish whether pricing or the mix of trading caused the difference.

Rothera passes a $100 million annualised revenue rate

Robinhood said Rothera exceeded $100 million in annualised revenue in its first full quarter of operation and had processed more than 6.4 billion contracts since launch. The annualised figure is a revenue run rate, not $100 million earned during Q3.

Rothera is the exchange and clearinghouse established through Robinhood’s joint venture with Susquehanna International Group. Robinhood’s Q2 release describes the business as independently managed.

Its recent leadership announcement, covered by Prediction Frontier, named seven executive hires and promotions across functions including risk, compliance and technology. That release put cumulative trading above 6 billion contracts in October.

The earnings figures add revenue data to that operational update. Rothera’s cumulative contract count covers a different period and venue from Robinhood’s quarterly total; the two should not be added together as a measure of industry activity.
