Rothera has announced seven executive hires and promotions as it expands the leadership of its event-contract exchange and clearinghouse.

The company says cumulative trading passed 6 billion contracts in October, following its May 2026 launch. That figure counts contracts traded, rather than dollars deposited or revenue.

Risk, compliance and technology appointments

The October 26 announcement names the following executives and their previous employers:

  • Saikat Bhattacharjee, chief risk officer: Options Clearing Corporation; earlier experience at Citadel.
  • Kevin Dan, chief compliance and regulatory officer: Crypto.com Derivatives North America and Nadex.
  • Pat DeFrancesco, chief technology officer: Brevan Howard and Intercontinental Exchange.
  • Ryan Mendel, chief information security officer and chief information officer: LedgerX.
  • Hugo Nistal Gonzalez, vice president of product management: Bitvavo and Cboe Digital.
  • Jena Pollock, associate general counsel: Underdog Sports.
  • Eric Schmid, vice president and head of operations: IEX.

Rothera describes the appointments collectively as hires and promotions. Its release does not identify all seven as external recruits.

The Robinhood–Susquehanna joint venture says the team will support new products and oversight of trading and risk. The announcement does not set out a timetable for those products.

Prediction Frontier previously covered Rothera’s surveillance infrastructure. The latest appointments concern the personnel responsible for operating and overseeing the venue.
