World Launches as a Native, Fully On-chain Prediction Market on Solana

The Solana ecosystem's longest-running mystery project went live this morning. World — the anonymous @world_xyz account that spent two and a half years teasing "Trade Everything" — has officially launched as a self-custodial, fully on-chain prediction market on Solana.

Markets are open now at world.xyz and inside the Phantom wallet on iOS, Android, and desktop.

What's live at launch

World opens with two market categories: short-duration Bitcoin up/down crypto price markets and 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup outcomes. Markets across sports, politics, and macroeconomics are planned for the weeks ahead.

Every position, every market, and every settlement live onchain. Funds never leave a user's wallet until they actively enter a market — no custodial wrappers, no off-chain systems, no manual redemptions. Winning positions pay out automatically in $CASH, Phantom's native stablecoin built on Bridge and Stripe's Open Issuance platform.

Distribution: Phantom first, more to follow

Launching inside Phantom is a major distribution play. With over 20 million active users, Phantom is the dominant wallet in the Solana ecosystem — meaning World is immediately accessible to tens of millions of people without a separate app download or new account setup. Phantom is the first of multiple frontend distribution partnerships. World says additional integrations across both crypto-native and traditional fintech platforms are coming throughout July.

The oracle infrastructure

The most consequential technical decision World has made is ditching legacy Oracle systems entirely. Most prediction markets still resolve via human-controlled committees — designated reporters manually confirm outcomes, creating delays, dispute windows, and resolution uncertainty. World replaces that with Chainlink Data Streams and the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), enabling immediate, automatic settlement the moment an event concludes.

For traders, the practical difference is simple: no waiting on a resolution committee, no manual redemption step, no ambiguity about when funds clear.

World launching mid-World Cup is not a coincidence. The 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup is already driving the highest sustained prediction market volumes the industry has recorded, with Polymarket, Kalshi, and Jupiter Predict all posting significant numbers on the back of it. World enters with World Cup markets active at launch, competing directly for a slice of the biggest sports trading moment the sector has ever seen.

This also lands in the same week Jupiter launched Forecast Beta — a competing market-maker model for Solana-native crypto price markets. The two products target different structures: Jupiter Forecast is built for short-duration crypto bets, while World's roadmap points toward sports, politics, and macro. Rather than direct competition, the launches together signal a genuine buildout of Solana's prediction market infrastructure layer at exactly the right moment.
